Writers Read: Script Sources

What? You haven’t been reading scripts?

Reading scripts is a great way to see how scripts are formatted, how characters develop, how action is written, how fight scenes are described and more. For beginning screenwriters constant script reading is one of the very best ways to learn your craft.

The good news is that you don’t have to live near Hollywood to gain access to scripts.

The Internet Movie Database has a section devoted to scripts http://www.imsdb.com .

There are many other sources online. Here are a few:

So, no excuses. Get to reading.

For example, this week I am reading the scripts for Drive and Blade Runner.

Make reading scripts part of the practice of your craft.
